This Veterans Day weekend is one of great tribute and appreciation in both Okaloosa and Walton counties, which have a series of events lined up to honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. On Saturday, November 11th, the Main Street Crestview Association will hold a parade near Hub City Smokehouse, followed by a ceremony at the Okaloosa County Veteran’s Memorial and subsequent ceremonies at Beal Memorial Cemetery and Mary Esther.
Parade and Ceremony to Honor Veterans
As the nation prepares to honor the Veterans this weekend, Okaloosa and Walton counties are honored to host a series of events that pay tribute to those who have served. The Main Street Crestview Association will host a parade in Crestview that will start at Hub City Smokehouse and go north past the courthouse. Following the parade, there will be a ceremony at the Okaloosa County Veteran’s Memorial at 11 a.m. to recognize the courageous men and women who have served our country.
Honoring Those Who Have Served
The Veterans Tribute Tower Committee is proud to host a special Veterans Day Ceremony at Beal Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, November 11th. This ceremony will recognize Remembrance Day and feature the keynote speaker Brig. Gen. Jeffrey T. Geraghty, Commander of the 96th Test Wing. Additionally, members of the British Royal Navy, led by Cmdr. Chris Wilcox and their families stationed at Eglin Air Force Base, will be in attendance. To honor those who have served, attendees are encouraged to bring flowers for the Community Wreath. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will relocate to American Legion Post 235 at 105 Hollywood Blvd.
Annual Veterans Day Celebrations in Mary Esther
The city of Mary Esther is proud to host its annual Veterans Day celebrations near the Santa Rosa Mall on Saturday, Nov. 11. Festivities will commence at 11 a.m., culminating in the parade beginning at 1 p.m. and travelling along Page Bacon Road, south on Mary Esther Boulevard and ending on Hollywood Boulevard. During this time, traffic will be rerouted courtesy of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office from 12-2 p.m. Live music will be provided by KROCK 100.3 and OMNI Broadcasting to make this a truly memorable event.
Honor Veterans Day with AMVETS Post #29 and HarborWalk Village
AMVETS Post #29 is proud to host its sixth annual BBQ Cook-off at Immanuel Anglican Church on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items such as canned goods, dry goods and diapers to support the event. Following the cook-off, AMVETS Post #29 will proudly host its Veterans Day celebration at 106 Benning Drive #2 from 2-4 p.m. HarborWalk Village will also honor Veterans Day with a ceremony on the Main Stage from 4-5 p.m., featuring a performance by Reid with Autism Sings, a presentation of colors, distinguished speakers and a veteran-owned vendor market.

Freeport Veterans Day Celebration
In addition to the DeFuniak Springs program, Freeport and its planter society will host their annual Veterans Day Celebration at the Freeport Veterans Memorial at Casey Park on Friday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend and honor our heroes for their service and sacrifice.

This noteworthy event, set for Saturday, November 11, from 8-11 a.m., promises a lively ambiance with live music from renowned artist Jim Hubbard. On the preceding day, Friday, November 10, at 2 p.m., the nearby town of Freeport will join in the commemoration. The Freeport Planter Society will conduct its annual Veterans Day Celebration at the esteemed Freeport Veterans Memorial in Casey Park.
